| Résumé : | « Is och im chliabh ‘s is diachair phéine », composed by head of the Carrignavear Bardic Court, Uilliam Mac Cartain an Duna, is the only extant Irish-language elegy composed on Sir James Cotter of Carrigtwohill. An edition and translation of the text are supplied with an introductory essay that traces his life and career. The text is of significant historical and literary importance and hitherto has only been accessible in manuscripts. |
