| Résumé : | This paper is about the possibilities and limits of pluralism in Northern Ireland. It attempts to learn from the comparative European context. My argument is that pluralism is at once inescapable in Northern Ireland, and more difficult to achieve than is often supposed. Given the nature of the conflicting groups, pluralism always passes beyond what can be encompassed within the British state and its implementation threatens to subvert pluralist values themselves |
