| Résumé : | Paul Muldoon's poetry up to and including Meeeting the British relies to a great extent on verbal construction which contain the modal auxiliary "might". This constitutes one of the distinctive signatures of Muldoon's work and is a telling expression of his imaginative temperament. The modal auxiliary "might" expresses a mood of possibility, it describes what might be rather than what certainly is the case |
