| Résumé : | This paper examines discourses of gender and sexuality, and Irish socio-sexual formations, as they are lampooned in television sitcom Father Ted. it argues that despite the claims of writers Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews that theirs is a depoliticized aesthetic, the series engages with and destabilizes Catholic doctrine on issues such as homosexuality and contraceptives by making them the target of satire |
