Robert Greacen was born in Derry in 1920. He has pursued a literary career as poet, reviewer, and editor in Belfast, Dublin, London where he lived for over 40 years until his return to Ireland in 1989. He has been living in Dublin since then. In 1995, he was awarded the Irish Times Poetry Prize for his Collected Poems. He also published two volumes of memoirs and his last collection, Captain Fox, a Life was published in 2000. Fred Johnston was born in Belfast in 1951 and was educated at St Malachy's College. He worked for some years as a full-time journalist. He has settled in Galway where he teaches, works as a free-lance journalist, edits and reviews poetry while writing fiction and poetry himself. He received several awards for his work which includes various collections of poems of which the latest is True North (1997), short stories, Keeping the Night-Watch was published in 1998, and novels |
