Résumé : | This article will endeavour to establish the true facts and impact of the efforts of Michael Cusack and others to establish the G.A.A. in the north-east. Particular use will be made of newspaper sources as Cusack was a prolific pressman and because few relevant meeting minutes have survived and previous written histories of the G.A.A. in Ulster have not examined local organs sufficiently for the 1893-1903 period. The article will further explore the problems that Cusack and his associates experienced especially with Ulster unionist opposition before evaluating the success of their labours |
